Rooted & Free: Puerto Rico
A five-day immersive retreat for women exploring self-trust, joy, culture, and what it means to belong to yourself.
February 25th-March 1st 2027 (4 nights / 5 days)
More than a Vacation
Travel creates space to step outside your routines, your responsibilities, and everyone's expectations of you. When we change our surroundings, we start to see ourselves differently. Inspired Retreats blends meaningful travel, beautiful places to stay, healing work, cultural connection, and real community — into experiences you carry long after you unpack.
Why Puerto Rico?
Puerto Rico is a place where beauty and resilience live side by side.
Its music, its food, its history, and its unmistakable pride ask a question worth sitting with: what does it look like to be deeply rooted and completely free at the same time?
Rooted & Free was inspired by that spirit.
Freedom isn't about becoming someone new. It's about remembering who you've always been.
Location:
We'll be staying in a private retreat home in Ceiba, on Puerto Rico's eastern coast — surrounded by green, close to the water, and built for slowing down. Our home base offers:
Private rooms, a pool, and quiet spaces to rest and reflect
Easy access to Puerto Rico's eastern coastline and its offshore islands
Roughly 75–90 minutes from Old San Juan, so a real night in the city is part of the week
A calm, unhurried setting away from resort crowds
Puerto Rico is a place with a story — Taíno, African, and Spanish roots braided together, held by people fiercely proud of it. We'll experience that story from the inside, guided by Puerto Rican historians, farmers, and cultural practitioners, in Old San Juan, on the land, and around the drum.
Tired of outsourcing your decisions to everyone else's expectations
Craving joy, beauty, and celebration alongside meaningful inner work
Ready to rebuild self-trust and listen to your own yes, no, and not yet
Drawn to culture, history, music, and place as part of healing
Longing for community rather than more independence
Ready to step away from daily demands and return clear about what comes next
THIS RETREAT IS FOR YOU IF YOU ARE:
THE EXPERIENCE
What the Week Holds:
Arriving as you are. We open gently — welcome drinks, a private-chef dinner, and an opening circle where nothing is required of you but honesty. No one should feel they missed the real beginning because of a delayed flight.
The work of choosing. Our primary workshop, The Authority Within, sits with self-trust, personal agency, and the places women hand over authority without meaning to. Later in the week, A Life of My Own Design brings it home — and each woman leaves having written her own personal constitution.
A night in Old San Juan. A private guided walk through the old city with a Puerto Rican historian — colonial fortifications, Boricua identity, resistance and diaspora, and the women who shaped it. Then free time to shop, wander, or sit in a plaza, a dinner at a locally owned table, and a proper night out with music and dancing.
A day on the water. A private island-hopping boat day exploring the turquoise water and offshore beauty of Puerto Rico's eastern coast — snorkeling, swimming, floating, beach time, music, and nowhere else to be.
Rooted in the land. A morning at a sustainable Puerto Rican farm, learning about agroecology, food sovereignty, and community resilience — and what it means to cultivate something that outlasts you.
Bomba: history, rhythm & resistance. An Afro-Puerto Rican cultural practitioner leads us through the origins of bomba, the conversation between dancer and drummer, and a movement lesson — flowing straight into our farewell dinner under the open air.
Carrying it home. We close where we began, in circle: what you're leaving, what you're reclaiming, and one choice you'll make when you land.
Our island-hopping day is intended for Culebra, with the final destination determined by the captain based on sea conditions.
