Which Therapist is Right for You
Our team includes therapists in Chicago with different specialties and styles.
We’ll help you find a therapist who fits your needs—whether you’re looking for structured tools, deeper insight, or a more experiential approach.
The following clinicians are trained in EMDR and/or IFS:
What is Trauma Therapy?
Trauma therapy focuses on how past experiences—whether big or subtle—continue to impact your thoughts, emotions, and nervous system today.
Instead of only talking through problems, trauma therapy helps your brain and body actually process and integrate those experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming or stuck.
The Modalities We Use
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR helps your brain reprocess distressing or unresolved experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity. It’s especially effective for trauma, anxiety, and deeply rooted patterns.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS helps you understand the different “parts” of yourself—like the part that overthinks, avoids, or feels stuck—and how they developed to protect you. This approach creates more self-awareness, compassion, and internal balance.
Somatic (Body-Based) Therapy
Somatic work focuses on the nervous system and how stress and trauma are held in the body. This helps you move out of survival mode and into a more regulated, grounded state.
Trauma therapy may be a support for you if you:
○ Feel stuck in patterns you can’t seem to change
○ Experience triggers, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm
○ Feel disconnected, numb, or shut down
○ Have a history of difficult or overwhelming experiences
○ Want deeper, lasting change—not just coping strategies
